Sand volleyball is all about you and one other person. There are not 6 people on the court that each specialize in one thing and 1 thing only. You have to be able to do it all. Well almost all of it, the one thing you might not have to do is block, but everything else is required of you.
There are many differences from indoor volleyball to beach volleyball. Beach volleyball rules are completely different.
The outdoor volleyball is larger, lighter and less inflated.
There are no rotations.
The set cannot spin and so you are allowed to hold on to it slightly longer.
Games go to 21.
Teams switch sides every 7 points.
If it goes to a third game, it goes to 15 and you switch sides on multiples of 5.
You can double a hard driven ball.
No open hand tipping the ball.
No side setting over the net.
